A Sheriff of the Stilfontein Court has removed Matlosana Animal Shelter staff members from SPCA premises in Matlosana in North West, following an eviction order issued by the local Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon.
According to National SPCA Senior Inspector, Jaco Pieterse, an urgent eviction notice was obtained following the shelter’s failure to comply with the request to take the right measures against a former SPCA employee who made racial slurs on social media.
Pieterse says the shelter was then being run under the false pretence that it promoted itself to be against euthanasia of animals since May.
He says after the property was regained yesterday afternoon, 7 dead cats and 7 dead dogs were found in the freezer.
Pieterse adds the organisation has been functional once again as of yesterday.
