A young talented individual from Heidedal in Bloemfontein has made it to the SA Team of Talent Africa and will represent South Africa at the Talent America Competition, New York, in July 2018. Saschine Cornelissen (26), member of the dance company, House of Dirty Shakers, took part in the Talent Africa Competition in Johannesburg at the Roodepoort Theatre.
Cornelissen is now going to represent the Free and South Africa in the Big Apple. He has also scored a gold medal in the hip hop category as well as a silver medal in contemporary and a special Top 10 Dancers SA Team award.
Zane Muller from House of Dirty Shakers made the proud announcement on Facebook. “Straight out of the streets of Heidedal, Bloemfontein, Free State, onto the stages of Roodepoort Theatre, JHB and now New York. You did the Free State proud! The world is yours!” said Muller. Cornelissen was one of the few chosen from 2800 performers across South Africa and will be visiting New York from 3-12 July 2018. “It was overwhelming and something new. I gave my best and the results were very good. I thank the Lord, all my supporters and my sponsors,” Cornelissen said.
