The Free State Provincial Government concluded the 16 Days of No Violence against Women and Children campaign at an event held at Bakenpark Stadium, in Bethlehem on Saturday.
This year the campaign which advocates for no violence against women and whildren was held under the theme: “Count Me In: Together Moving a Non-Violent South Africa Forward”.
South African President, Jacob Zuma, addressed residents about their human rights, reminding them about the right to respect one another as men, women and children.
Free State Premier, Ace Magashule, said that even though the 16 Days of activism campaign has come to an end, it does not mean that basic human rights also come to an end.
“We as men shall have to work very hard to teach other men, all of us including our young boys as they grow up, nurture them correctly and remind them that we are all human beings. Boys and girls men and women. My message to all of us as men is to make sure that we protect the rights of women and children.”
