The leadership of the ANC in the Free State has officially declared Thabo Manyoni as ‘Not yet down and out’.
Controversy concerning the position of the former Mangaung Metro Municipality Executive mayor gained momentum after two former mayors, Papi Mokoena and Thabo Manyoni, were amongst those sworn in as ordinary councillors of the Mangaung Metro council at its first official meeting last month.
ANC’s provincial secretary, William Bulwane, briefed the media that Thabo Manyoni is still a member of the provincial committee and holds a high position.
“Thabo Manyoni is a loyal and disciplined member of the ANC. He has been removed as a mayor and replaced by the former Cogta MEC Olly Mlamleli. This is not because there was any personal differences with him. Thabo Manyoni is still a member of the Executive Provincial Committee and holds a very high position. He is not yet down and out,” said William Bulwane.
