Bloemfontein Christmas crash leaves one dead-three injured

At 22h04 on Sunday night Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision along Currie Avenue, Fichardt Park, Bloemfontein. Reports from the scene indicate that a vehicle with a family of four was driving along Currie Ave when an  errant party driving contra flow hit them head-on.

Netcare spokesperson, Chris Botha says paramedics arrived at the scene and found  the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles, some of the injured were still trapped in the wreckage. The male in the family vehicle tragically died before the  arrival of the paramedics. A mom and two children were found to have sustained serious injuries, the driver of the other vehicle was taken by police for further investigation.

Paramedics from various services worked hand in hand to stabilise the injured at the scene before they transported them to a local hospital to receive further care. Exact details concerning collision and preceding events will form part of the police investigation.
