Police are still searching for two knife-wielding men, who robbed a copy shop located at the Bloemfontein Tourism Centre in Willows yesterday.
The two Zulu speaking men dressed in blue jeans and white T-shirts entered the shop posing as customers shortly after opening time at around 07:30.
After entering the shop, both suspects produced knives and threatened the cashier. They tied her up and one suspect jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. Before fleeing the scene, they also grabbed two cell phones belonging to the cashier and one laptop valued at R12 000.
The 36–year-old cashier managed to untie herself a few moments after the suspects fled from the scene and alerted the police.
The police are asking members of the public to be aware of these two men, who are reportedly 1.7 and 1.6 meters tall.
According to Parkweg Police Spokesperson, Chaka Marope, no arrests have been made and the investigation is still underway. “On the preliminary investigation, the police managed to spot a suspicious car that was parked at the parking area. At this stage, they are still conducting further investigations.”
